"Come my lady, come come my lady" were the lyrics that nobody could escape back in 2001. "Butterfly" was a runaway hit for Crazy Town and made them instant stars. Crazy Town was coming to our crazy town in support of their "The Gift of Game" album and Saliva was tagging along as the opening act. This sounded like a great opportunity to add some good old autographs to the collection and we grabbed our Sharpies and headed out.
We would be exposed to some harsh weather on this day, which only caused problems for us. The wind was so strong that it was hard for the celebrities to sign because our photos wouldn't stay on our binders. We arrived at the venue and waited around a bit and met two really nice girls.
The girls had traveled all the way from Arizona and asked if we would mind sitting with them because they were being harassed by passing male drivers. They were quite hot and wearing some skimpy outfits so this made for one heck of a distraction to passing motorists. Men kept shouting out sexist comments and whistling at them, we thought they were going to end up in the ditch because they couldn't keep their eyes on the road.
The girl's mother was also there and gave us each some cookies, which was nice. They had also brought along a television set which definitely helped pass the time. They were interested in how we collected autographs so they joined us. Since they are hot mamas it didn't take long for Saliva's members to invite them inside the bus.
That's one of the best things to be if you want to meet a band: a hot chick. Saliva invited them on the bus and when we tried to come the security wouldn't let us, ahhh (read Saliva's Story to find out what happened when getting their autographs). That was okay because we didn't need a stinking invite we're hardcore autograph collectors that can get autographs the harder way.
It wasn't long until all of the band members of both bands started coming out of the buses and prowling the venue. Mr. Shifty Shell Shock (lead singer) was one of the first members of Crazy town that we met. When he posed for a picture with us he puts all of his weight on you and he's one heavy fella let me tell you. We got to see Shifty all day long as he signed autographs for more fans and checked out our town.
He's definitely willing to sign anywhere and everywhere, great guy. Epic was a little hard to get for a while but he eventually came out and signed. Epic was also a pretty cool guy and signed an autograph for us, but this was the only time we saw him for the rest of the day. With the photo-ops both of them (Epic/Shifty) politely extended the middle finger for the camera, ahhh how sweet.
The drummer of Crazy town, JBJ, was a very talkative and cool fella. He was very friendly and talked about touring and all kinds of things, after signing and taking a picture with us of course. Eventually we ran out of things to talk about and it got kind of awkward, but it was cool that he enjoyed talking to us SO long. We caught Trouble and Squirrel in the ally way of the backstage area and both of them had no problem signing or posing for pictures.
Sterling had an outdated picture of Crazy Town and Squirrel corrected it for him by crossing out the ex-crazy town member (Rust Epique) and adding his autograph, which was funny. DJ Am was the last member we met and was nice enough to sign the picture we brought. It was a great day getting autographs and we were happy to see that Crazy Town is a really great group of autograph signers.
