Celebrity Encounter Story told by Earl:

Formed in 1995, Chevelle's members are brothers Sam (drums), Pete (vocals, guitar) and Joe (bass) Loeffler. The brothers Loeffler were coming to town opening, along with Sinch, for Stone Sour. Chevelle is such a good band and even though they were one of the opening bands I wanted their 'graphs the most, so hopefully I'd get to meet them.

When I arrived, fellow autograph collector Newt told me that Chevelle had already come off the bus and signed. He said they were hungry and were going to go find something to eat. I was so mad because evidently I had just missed everyone and couldn't believe my bad luck. In the mean time I got some autographs from Stone Sour and Sinch, hoping that Chevelle would head back shortly.

Forty minutes later I spotted Pete and Sam walking up to their bus and it was really exciting to see them. I walked up shook both of their hands and politely asked them for an autograph. Without a second of hesitation they took my sharpie and added their autographs to the picture I brought for them to sign. Pete had the flu and it was sure nice of him to still take a moment to grant a fans request.

After they were done signing I was able to get a picture with both of them and thanked them both. Pete said he had to get into the bus to rest, so he could nurture that cold of his. I thanked each of them again and they disappeared within the bus. Just like that I had met most of Chevelle and now needed the last brother, the bassist, to sign.

From there I met a couple more members from Stone Sour and had met all of Sinch. I was starting to worry that I wouldn't be able to meet Joe, but that was put to an end when I spotted him coming down the street. As he got closer I asked for an autograph and like his brothers, he was a great guy. When he signed my picture he jokingly said, "These aren't going to end up on ebay are they?"

I thought to myself: Oh boy not another ebay incident! Newt responded by saying "F@CK ebay" and Joe laughed out loud at that response. He lightened up a little more and also allowed me to get a picture with him. I thanked Joe for stopping and he carried on his way. I was so happy to add the last autograph to my Chevelle photo, but I still had more work to do in order to complete my Stone Sour collection.

Final Thoughts

The brothers Loeffler are really cool guys and were willing signers. Chevelle was the band that I like the most, so I'm glad that I was able to meet all of them. Thank you Loeffler's, continue to ROCK!
