Celebrity Encounter Story told by Sterling and Earl:

Sterling and Earl were ready to get Daniel Bernhardt's autograph when he strolled into town for an autograph session at the grand opening of a karate training center. Bernhardt was attending because one of the owners was one of the men that helped train Bernhardt in martial arts. When we pulled up to the building a big sign read, "Grand Opening: Meet Wesley Snipes and Daniel Bernhardt." We immediately said, "WESLEY SNIPES!!!!" We started to freak out and happily went inside with our hopes even bigger this time around.

When we went inside they announced that Daniel Bernhardt was there and we noticed him across the room, but when we approached him for an autograph he told us that he would be signing after the karate demonstration. What about Wesley Snipes you ask? Well we asked a couple of people who worked there and they said that Wesley had last minute plans and couldn't make it. That was a horrible blow to take and would've been such a great autograph to get. We still wanted Daniel's autograph so we kept our spirits high, but it was really horrible of the store to advertise in big headlines that Wesley was there because it got many people's hopes up.

During the Karate Demonstration we would notice people coming up looking for him only to be let down. After the very entertaining demonstrations it was time for Daniel to sign autographs. He supplied his own pictures and signed away for the mob of autograph seekers. He signed for about thirty minutes and then quickly got up and left. This caused some commotion and fans were starting to worry, but we were assured he was only doing an interview and would be back (thankfully).

Bernhardt was done with the interview and returned to finish what he started. Each of us got autographs and a picture with him, which was really cool. Earl also got his wife's autograph because evidently she has some sort of claim to fame, if you know who she is please email us and let us know. We thanked them and were off.

Final Thoughts

While Daniel may not be as famous as Wesley, he made our day a happy one by accommodating our requests for autographs and a photo-op. He was a little rushed acting a few times, but seemed like a good guy. Recently we were surprised to see him in one of our favorite trilogies, "The Matrix". He plays one of the agents and its great to see that he has still been keeping busy. Thank you for the autograph Mr. Bernhardt and we wish only success in all of your future pursuits.
