EIGHTH GENERATION

142. Betty June HEIPLE was born on Jun 17 1928. I remember March of 1947 and some of the older boys were coming home from the war, when our Grandmother Mary Finot Poirot had a stroke and passed away - what a sad day. Our grandmother Poirot was a very special person. Aunt Josephine was good to us but grandmother was very special. She always had lots of flowers in her garden and when anyone visited they always commented on her flower garden. I guess that's where my mother got her love for flowers. If she was worried, she could spend hours working in her flowers. She always said that it made her feel better, working with some of God's creation. Grandmother and Aunt Josephine would walk over to our house (Earl Heiple) on Sunday afternoon a lot in the summer and Mom and the two of them would spend several hours talking about relatives or politics, the war or whatever happened to be going on at that time. They always kept in touch and up with the latest news.
All went well until 1963 or 1964 when Uncle Louis passed away from cancer, then Aunt Josephine passed away from cancer in 1965, Aunt Angeline in 1968. All went well for nine years and then Uncle Alex passed away in 1976, then Georgette in 1978, and last but not least, Emily, passed away at about 100 years of age in 1992. That was then end of an era.

She was married to G. P. COX.
