51. Eugenia Angeline "Jennie" FINOT was born on Dec 20 1873 in St. Louis, St Louis Co., MO. She died on Apr 30 1955 in Murphysboro, Jackson Co., IL. Jennie was a diabetic and also had Arteriosclerosis for about 10 years as well as Myocarditis for about 5 years. She had just had her right leg amputated at mid thigh on April 5, 1955 and developed problems contributing to a Coronary Occlusion the day before her passing. This information is all from her death certificate, as noted by her doctor, Dr. Sondag of Murphysboro, IL. She was buried on May 3 1955 in Mt. Joy Cem. Levan Twp., Jackson Co., IL.
She was married to William Jackson "Jack" SORRELS
(son of Calvin C. SORRELS Sr. and Nancy
Jane DEASON) on Jul 14 1891 in Raphael Finot's - Levan Twp., Jackson Co., IL.
William Jackson "Jack" SORRELS was born on Apr 14 1868
in Murphysboro, Jackson Co., IL. He died on Dec 16 1931 in Murphysboro, Jackson
Co., IL. William Jackson Sorrels died of Carcinoma of the bladder, according
to his death certificate. His obituary states that he died of "Brights
disease", following an illness of three weeks. He was buried on Dec 18
1931 in Mt. Joy Cem. Levan Twp., Jackson Co., IL. In the 1880 Census of
Jackson Co., IL, William J. is living with his cousin, James and Frances Crowell.
He is 13 at the time and I'm not sure which he is related to, probably Frances.
At the time of his marriage to Eugenia, the records show that this was his second
marriage. At the time of his son, Charles Arnold's birth, Jack is listed as
being a coal miner. He was living in Jackson Co. when he was 24 years old and
farming at that time.
In other documents found, it is stated that he was committed because of
"insanity" to the Anna State Hospital in Anna, IL. Records at the
State Hospital state that he was admitted on February 20, 1925, that his father
was born in TN and his mother was born in IL. It further states that he had
5 children, that he was a Baptist, that he worked as a laborer and had completed
his education at 14 years old. He is listed as living at home in Murphysboro
in the 1920 census. He was discharged from the State Hospital on November 22,
1926 to the care of W. A. Williams. His discharge states that his condition
had "improved".
His death certificate states that he was living in Murphysboro at the time
of his death, and the records show that he had been a farmer all of his life
and was currently living in Murphysboro at 1915 Clark. His wife, Eugenia's name
is listed as "Jennie". His father is listed as Calvin Sorrels (born
in Illinois) and his mother is listed as Nancy Deason, birthplace unknown. The
informant on the death certificate, is Calvin Sorrels, which was his brother.
His cause of death was "Carcinoma of bladder". Eugenia Angeline "Jennie"
FINOT and William Jackson "Jack" SORRELS had the following children:

following. He was hit by an Iron Mountain Train." He was buried on Jul

is a boy identified as Raphael and Frances Finot's grandson, living with them
who is 12 years old. His last name is Sorrels and his first name is difficult
to read on the census. It must be Ralph Calvin, since he is the only Sorrels
