Learn how to identify and evaluate the condition of clocks while gaining hands-on experience in actual repair work. Get old clocks cleaned, oiled and running with individual instruction. Tuition $ 200.00 (no lab fees) for 10 weeks Watch Repair & MicromachiningInstructor Tom Payne NAWCC, AWCI Certified Master Watchmaker, TMPCOStarts Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 6:30pm to 9:00pm Learn how to evaluate and identify watches with a hands-on experience in the actual repair of your own project. Learn to make or alter parts for your restoration project through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on applications. Requirements include safety glasses, magnifier, small hand tools, watchmakers lathe, graver, calipers, micrometer, files, pin vice, and other small metal working tools. Some tools will be available at the beginning of the class. Tuition $ 200.00 (no lab fees) for 10 weeks Basic Wire Working in Jewelry FabricationMartin RosenblumStarts Monday, September 28, 2009 at 6:30pm to 9:00pm Learn the fundamentals of jewelry making using every day tools to create unique and personalized pieces of jewelry. You will be able to unmask your creativity using my simple methods of design and assembly. Silver wire and stones will be provided, although students are welcome to bring their own stones or keepsakes such as old bottle caps, coins, small wood carvings, buttons, beads and pearls. Magnuson Park NE 74th Street and Sand Point Way NE Seattle WA 98115 Building 406 "The Brig" or Community Activity Center From the entrance to Warren G. Magnuson Park. Drive straight ahead for about two hundred yards to the STOP sign. “The Brig”, building 406, is diagonally across the street on the NE corner of the intersection. Directions from Interstate 5: You can exit at either NE 45th Street (Exit #169) or NE 65th Street (Exit #171). From the NE 45th Street exit, go east on NE 45th Street, passing the University of Washington and down the NE 45th Street overpass. Continue east past the University Village. NE 45th Street becomes Sand Point Way NE. Continue on Sand Point Way NE past Children’s Hospital until you reach NE 74th Street. From the NE 65th Street exit, head east approximately four miles on NE 65th Street until you reach Sand Point Way NE. Turn left (north) onto Sand Point Way NE and continue north until you see NE 74th Street. Directions from State Route 520 (Evergreen Floating Bridge): Take the Montlake Boulevard NE exit (north) and continue north past the University of Washington’s very large parking lot (on your right) and bear to the right as Montlake Boulevard NE becomes NE 45th Street. Continue east past the University Village. NE 45th Street becomes Sand Point Way NE and you will pass Children’s Hospital. Continue on Sand Point Way NE until you reach NE 74th Street. |
