Long Illness is Fatal to Bridget Horan Grady

McDonough Avenue Woman was Lifelong North Scranton Resident. Funeral Saturday.

  A long illness proved fatal last evening to Mrs. Bridget Horan Grady at her home, 1751 McDonough Avenue. She was a lifelong resident of North Scranton..

  Mrs. Grady was a communicant of Holy Rosary and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society.

  Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Winifred McCaffrey, this city; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edward Horan, this city; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

  The funeral will be held Saturday morning from the Regan Funeral Home, 329 West Market Street with a requiem mass at 10:30 o’clock in Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery.

The fueral of Mrs. Bridget Horan Grady, 1751 McDonough Avenue, was held this morning  from the Regan Funeral Home, 329 West Market Street. A solemn high mass of requiem was celebrated in Holy Rosary Church by Rev. Francis Barrett, assisted by Rev. Joseph Barrett, deacon, and Rev. Joseph Padden, subdeacon, cousins of the deceased. Mary Louise Devers was at the organ and the Children’s Choir sang.

Burial was in Cathedral Cemetery where the officers of the mass held committal rites. Pallbearers were Patrick, Joseph Padden, James Schofield, Thomas Murtaugh, Frank Lyons and Robert Lynott.

Rev Martin Roche visited the funeral home last night and recited the rosary.
