Instructions for paying a ticket without going to Court
Some traffic violations can be resolved by paying a fine, either in person or by mail.
(Mountain View Municipal Court Summons are a full page, gold in color and begin with
the letter "T".)
Eligibility
•If you are eligible to mail in your fine without appearing in Court, your copy of the ticket
will show the amount of the fine.
•The amount of the fine will be indicated on the summons in the "Total Amount Due" box
on the lower part of your copy.
•If no fine in shown on the your copy, you MUST appear in court on the date & time
shown on the ticket.
If you are eligible, the Court MAY send you a letter at the address on your ticket offering to
reduce the points. Points can be reduced, but the fine is not reduced. By signing the ticket,
and making payment, the violator admits guilt to the charge, or amended charge, if the
Court has made an offer by mail.
Instructions
If a fine amount is indicated, in order to avoid having to appear in court, you MUST:
1. Completely read both sides of the ticket.
2. Sign the your copy of the ticket on the back.
3. Place you copy of the summons, along with you payment in a stamped envelope.
4. Mail the your copy of the ticket with your fine payment to:
Mountain View Municipal Court
4176 Benton Street
Mountain View, CO 80212-7326
Always include the Summons number with your payment to insure that your payment
is credited to your case.
Important
We accept checks or money orders by mail. We do not accept credit cards.
Never mail cash. If you wish to pay in cash, or want to pay in person, you may
go to the Mountain View Town Hall between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM,
Monday thru Friday, except holidays.
Always pay on time. Late payment can result in a warrant being issued for your your
arrest, and additional fine & fees are added to all cases that are not paid on time.
Never write an insufficient funds, or closed account, (bad) check to the Court. This is the
same as not paying the fine at all, and the Court will issue an Arrest Warrant for anyone
paying their fine with a 'bad' or short check.
If you have any questions, please call the Court Clerk's Office at (303) 432-9097.
