STANDARD COMPUTER CORPORATION

I held the position of Vice President, Administration and Corporate Secretary.  I arranged for the Interim Capital funding and supervised the preparation of the successful public offering (S-1) for the company's IPO.  Standard produced a line of scientific mainframe computers which could emulate most other mainframe manufacturer's equipment at that time.  My responsibilities included personnel, purchasing, accounting and administration.

Douglas Aircraft purchased two of the larger configurations of these computers to do the design work on a helicopter being designed and built by them, and to emulate the flight characteristics of the helicopter under battle conditions.  IBM brought their 32 bit 350 series of computers into the market, and our 16 bit machine could no longer compete.  We purchased a time sharing company from Pillsbury Mills for stock, combined the two companies, and reduced the employee level from 650 to 59.  I was employee number 60.
