Budgets

In 2 years 61 teachers that teach the fine arts in Milwaukee, alone, will be fired. This is a cause for concern. We should be worried because so many people are losing they're jobs but this is only adding to the concern that there aren't enough jobs to go around.

Budgets problems are the State government's fault because legislators are passing bills that are cutting school funding. Schools are spending more money to get standardized test scores higher, too.

Schools in urban areas though have to hire large custodial staffs just to keep up with the large amount of schools. In fact, schools in big city areas teach 25% of the nations students. The 100 largest school districts teach 23% of the nations students.

These three things take music education, and fine arts in general, off the budget. Skyview Junior High in Bothell, Washington has a music program that costs $4000. Half of which goes to repairing school instruments. Another $1000 goes to buying sheet music. Other schools are lucky to get $3000 for a program.
