Music can help your brain in many ways. Music is most known for helping people in Math, English, Geography, and Science. The difference between non-musicians and musicians is about a 40% higher grades for musicians.

It's also proven that music can help the brain process spoken language faster. Because music can also help the brain understand spoken language and can bring up a persons score on an IQ test by 46% after eight months of lessons.

Music can also help children be less likely to do drugs and be involved in gang violence. High-risk students in urban schools are less likely to become involved in drugs and gangs is the biggest thing because if drugs are taken out of the picture grades go up. Bassist Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers said that when he was in high school music was his salvation from all things bad.
