Discover Engineering |
This is an excellent site that is recommended for grades 6-9 that
explains all about engineering, as well as has many fun and interesting ideas
that enable the students to get involved with engineering and science.
There is a "links" hyperlink that takes you to a vast list of web sites that
include all the different sciences (chemistry, biology, environmental, etc…) |
| Chem-4-Kids |
A beginner's look into the
states of matter, atoms, reactions, and other elements of chemistry. |
| WebElements |
Online periodic table extensively linked to essential data, adjacent elements, and
chemical and physical data as well as background, crystallographic, nuclear,
electronic, biological and geological information. |
| Mission Polar Lander |
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has initiated a
long-term systematic program of Mars exploration, the Mars Surveyor Program (MSP).
The highest priority scientific objectives of this program are to: Search for
evidence of past or present life, Understand the climate and volatile history of
Mars, and Assess the nature and inventory of resources on Mars. -- The common
thread of these objectives is water: past and present sources and sinks;
exchanges between subsurface, surface and atmospheric reservoirs; and the change
of volatiles over time. |
| Astronomy for Kids |
This terrific site explores the planets, constellations,
and other astronomical wonders, using photos and prose
that kids will love. Visit the Sky Maps section for
an overview of this month's natural sky show and then
head outdoors for some stargazing. You'll also find
some links to other astronomy sites, free postcards
your class can send, and word search puzzles to help
your students learn the solar system's moons, famous
astronauts, and historical space missions. |
| Our Solar System |
Visit links to the Sun, and visit the planets and other small bodies in the Solar System. Find out about solar system formation, and facts about the bodies in the solar system. See news highlights, and archives of images of the Sun, planets, comets, and asteroids. |
| Missions to Mars |
Malin Space Science Systems (MSSS) has on display many pictures of the different missions
to mars and much other information. |
| Science Matters |
This site is great for classroom learning. It has movie clips of the Rover and
future plans by NASA to explore Mars. The Marvin clip is a riot! |
| Thursday's Classroom |
Teachers
& Parents: The aim of Thursday's Classroom is to provide a lasting connection
between NASA's latest research and the classroom environment. We would
appreciate your feedback about how we might make this a more useful resource.
We also hope you'll become a regular weekly customer by subscribing to our
Express News email service! -- Dr. John Horack, Science Directorate,
NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center. |
| The Planet Mars |
It is a combination of: Mars Facts, Discovery & History, Mythology, Life on Mars,
Oppositions & Observing, Mars Atlases, Images, Missions to Mars, and Observing
Mars. |
