   Gouache and Glass Paintings

I really loved my brother's style of painting (small and detailed) and I felt inspired to try to learn how to paint in gouache, too.  The picture below, on the left, is my first painting, based on a small image I saw in a magazine.  The one on the right is a copy I made of one of my brother's paintings - it was fun to learn new techniques by trying to get my painting to look exactly like his, and eventually... I did!  and he was very impressed! ;)

My favorite hobby these days is

GLASS PAINTING!

It's an easy craft that really does look like stained glass!  It can be done on a piece of glass and framed, or created directly on a window or mirror, or jar or bottle, etc.  If you tire of one design, you can simply peel it off and do something else!   These paintings can be created either vertically, directly on the window, or using the modular method where the design is created in pieces and then arranged on the window after it has cured.

Below are some examples of what I've done, tho I've learned that taking pictures of sunny windows can be a problem!  These photos honestly don't do them justice, but I think you can still see how pretty they are.

I use Gallery Glass brand paints, by Plaid, found in craft stores
or Wal-Mart.  I've also seen kits (including pattern and enough
leading and paint to complete the project) sold on TV on the
QVC and shopping channels.
