Dear Fellowship Applicants:

In response to the interest expressed in the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship in the Southern California Center for Sports Medicine and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, we've posted an application and an information sheet below.

The fellowship position is twelve (12) months in duration. The year involves active participation in patient evaluation and care. The surgical experience involves primarily knee and shoulder with current application of arthroscopy, soft tissue reconstructions, and joint replacement. A portion of the remaining time will be devoted to research.

Fellows are expected to submit at least two manuscripts for publication related to work completed during the Fellowship. We are looking for outstanding young clinicians with a strong commitment to pursuing research projects and the ability to prepare an in-depth paper related to that work.

We participate in the match. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for January 25, 2009. A decision on the candidates to fill the two (2) Fellowship positions will be made shortly after the interview process is completed. The fellowship will begin in August, 2010. Carefully follow the instructions on the information sheet. Please complete the application and return it to our office by December 15, 2008 (earlier if possible). We have one Fellowship opening for a position beginning August 2009.
