It is with deep regret that I inform you that this site has been closed.
During the time this site was available, I received many emails of gratitude and encouragement, and for this I thank you one and all. I have just received another email of a different type, and a truncated version is included below. The email was also edited to remove all fax and voice phone numbers, addresses, and email ids for obvious reasons. As a direct result of this email this site has been closed. The intended purpose of this site was not to violate copyright laws, but to provide others with the chance to experience listening to Shel Silverstein performing his own works. I sincerely hope that you get this chance elsewhere, as he was a wonderful performer as well as his many other talents.
Included below for your reference is the original web site. All audio files, audio links and Shel Silverstein related images have been deleted. As Douglas Adams once penned,
So long and thanks for all the fish.

Re: Copyright Infringement Claim
Dear Mr. Stephenson:
We are the attorneys representing Peggy Myers, the Personal Representative of the Estate of Shel Silverstein (the “Estate”). Mr. Silverstein, the internationally recognized writer, artist and composer, died on May 10, 1999. This letter is to notify you that a subscriber of “AT&T Worldnet” (the “Subscriber”) is displaying works and musical compositions of Shel Silverstein on web-page(s) within the Internet domain of AT&T Worldnet Service (the “Company”) that infringe on the copyrights in and to such works owned by the Estate.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act of 1998, on behalf of the Estate, we demand that all necessary steps be taken by the Company to immediately remove all displays or reproductions of the works of Shel Silverstein, whether text, audio, video or otherwise (the “Infringing Material”) from the Subscriber’s area of the Company’s Internet domain.

This is NOT a business or organization, nor does it represent or support any.
This site is dedicated to preserving a very small portion of Shel Silverstein's great and various works. I have searched the Internet far and wide, and have found his life story and almost everything that he has ever done, with one exception. It has been simply mentioned that he had performed some of his poems. Nowhere could I find any additional information or samples. Therefore, this site only presents that small missing piece to you so that you may also experience it. To learn more about the man and his works, I suggest starting with one of the links below. His lifelong tale is as interesting as the works that he created.
The poems and folk songs that he performed contain subtle nuances that only he could do so well. Simply reading his works does not convey his insight, nor compare to hearing him perform them himself. Please respect his hard work and talent and do NOT make copies of anything found on this site or its links. The audio selections presented here are for preview use only. After you have selected up to three tracks of a specific album, please go to one of the sites listed below that sells the original tape or CD and make your purchase.
For Shel Silverstein - a man who touched the hearts and minds of four generations.
He brought imagination to life. Thank you.
Many thanks are due to Sely for getting me to start this site,
to Carol for convincing me to add images,
to Sarah for the valuable info and site corrections,
to Kyran for tolerating me,
and to everyone who has sent positive EMail encouraging me to continue. Morgo
