The Weekly Perryville Union was the first newspaper published in Perry County, beginning July 14, 1862 and issued every Friday for over thirty years. Researchers interested in learning about Perry County, Missouri from first-hand accounts, will probably enjoy just browsing through the various issues. The search engine may assist in finding a particular name, however, be aware that spelling used for individuals varies widely. Women and children were often referred to as the "wife of..." or "child of ..." someone. Men are frequently referred by only their initials or nicknames.

Each of the pages contains at least one item related to our own research, but we have included all other items of interest from those same pages as a help to other researchers.
