After high school I attended
Polytechnic Institute,
in Troy, New York. I went to RPI planning to study chemical
engineering, but after two years switched to Chemistry, along
with enjoying various sports and pastimes along the way. I
graduated from Rensselaer with a BS degree in Chemistry. I'm a
scientist at heart. I have another group of friends from college,
this time spread all over the planet.
While at Rensselaer I joined the Tau Kappa Epsilon
Fraternity,
Gamma Epsilon Chapter. There's a growing 'web' of college
friends keeping contact via e-mail. Please drop me an e-mail note

My senior year at RPI I met my future wife, Bobbi Peyser. At the end of my senior year I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Bobbi and I married two years later. Our home is in the town of Greece, west and north of Rochester; and near Lake Ontario.
After graduating from Rensselaer I accepted a job at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York. My years at Kodak and Eastman Fine Chemicals are summarized in my resume.
To keep myself busy following my early retirement from Kodak I'm currently self-employed working mostly with C & P Sales, Inc., a supplier of specialty chemicals and dyes.
My wife, Bobbi, was born in Norwich, New York. After her first year of life she moved south of the Mason Dixon Line to a number of different towns in Virginia, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Her father was a manager in the Montgomery Wards organization, so for a while they moved every few years as he went to different stores. By the time Bobbi was in fifth grade they had settled in Hanover, Pa.; which is near Gettysburg.
Bobbi attended Russell Sage College, graduating from
there with a BS in Nursing. After graduation she worked at the
Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY for a year. Then we
married and Bobbi has lived with me in the Rochester area ever
since. In Rochester Bobbi obtained her Nurse Practitioner
Certification at the University of Rochester. The varied
occupations of a nurse has seen Bobbi working for Visiting Nurse
Service, Strong Memorial Hospital, a pediatrician, and Monroe
County Health Department.
Bobbi and I have 2 sons,
Scott and Erik, who are both our greatest joy and challenge. Both
Scott and Erik chose, after considerable evaluation of a number of colleges, to go to RPI for their undergraduate studies. Naturally I was proud of their
choice, especially since they did so well in such a broad
spectrum of activities.
Erik graduated from R.P.I. with a magna cum laude degree in Physics and a minor in Psychobiology May 1997.
Erik moved to Seattle June 1997 to start a PhD program
in Nuclear
Particle Physics at the University of Washington. That
first summer he worked at the U of Washington Nuclear Physics
Laboratory until classes started in autumn. Then he began his
studies for his PhD in nuclear physics. After receiving his PhD in experimental physics Erik has settled into a professorship teaching physics at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
An occasional soccer game or volleyball game or tennis game slips into the schedule. Erik also finds the fine skiing in the Northwest enjoyable, when he can find time to squeeze it into his day.
Scott graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering,
worked for ABB Industrial Systems in Henrietta, NY
as an Applications Engineer, and is currently employed as an process control engineer at Eastman Kodak.
Scott currently lives in Spencerport,
near Rochester. If
there's a volleyball game or tournament in Monroe County, he
probably knows about it - and may very well be playing in
it!
My favorite sports and hobbies include tennis, soccer, softball, cross country skiing, vegetable gardening (lots of seasonal stuff in this part of the country), tropical fish, and some photography.
I'm a member of a
Lutheran Church in Greece, NY; which belongs to the ELCA, Evangelical Lutheran Church
in America.
My brother and wife moved from Richmond, Va. to Saint Louis in 2009, while his two adult daughters are living in the state of Virginia.
Bobbi's sister lives in basketball country, Raleigh, NC.
My mom lived in Marshalls Creek, Pa - near Stroudsburg until Fall of 2005. She has moved to the Rochester/Greece area near me now; and Bobbi's parents still live in Hanover, Pa. Since they are all retired they have no need for the WWW! [But we'll see if they get interested when they hear about the family information pages!]
To see some early history of the Mohrmann family in America read Grandpa Mohrmann's personal story, starting with his immigration to the USA in 1890, at the age of 15.
Bobbi's family's history is documented on two linked pages, Bobbi's Family, the Peyser Family, and also the Tilley Family, her maternal grandfather's family.
