Wayne and myself put together a Jeep on the cheap in 2002. Here's what we started with. 1988 Cherokee, it has a 4.0 6 cyl. and an auto. We acquired the Jeep from Abney recycling, it had been in a nasty rear end collision and some parts had been removed. After some tinkering, it runs and drives. We discovered that we couldn't have gotten any luckier, it already has a lift kit!
   Below are 2  photos of what we had done so far as of 6-7-02 (Saws all and 33's mainly). We still had a few things to do but were looking forward to trying it out at Mud and More in Buffalo on 6-30-02.

It works, pull points and a "Lincoln locker" (welded) rear axle and we were good to go for Mud and More.

On the trails in Foothills State forest, north of Brainerd near Pine River.

Current status: 11-05-04
Still working, motor nocks but won't die. I took the lift out, tires off, and brought it back to the salvage yard it came from.
Future: Yard truck at Abney Recycling Inc. until it dies
