(You may want to read the next paragraph a couple of times, then try it…)
Here is an intuition test: before you go any further, take a deep breath and begin to relax all your muscles starting in your feet and working your way up to your shoulders, your arms, and then your neck, jaw and head… okay? Now… let your mind go completely blank… and focus on existing in that blankness. When you are ready, try to slowly and carefully tune into the answers that I have chosen this month in the following categories(you may want to write your answers down):
One of the fifty states
A number between 1 and 100
A man’s name
A woman’s name
A color
A smell
A sound
Got ‘em? Now, below I have posted the words I chose for this month. (You could go to This Month in the Universe and whatever month is posted there, that is the month that I have posted the words below.)
Once you have compared your answers with the ones I chose, ask yourself: where did I get the same answers, or where was I close, or partially close, and how did I get those answers? Did I see them? Hear them? Sense them? Feel them? If all my answers were way off: what process did I use? (You might not want to use that process again!) The point is to notice what worked for you and what didn’t, not necessarily to become an instant intuitive. Examining your own process helps you to develop consistency. Okay, here goes:
Massachusetts
Fifty-nine
Richard
Carolyn
Brown
Garlic
Telephone
Anything? Were you feeling pretty calm and relaxed before you “guessed”? A little hasty? Was a fear of being wrong/ stupid/ not intuitive making you inaccurate? Were there some near misses? How were your answers close to the ones posted? Sometimes we get exactly the right answers and we interpret them wrongly. Maybe you got the shape of the state, but guessed a different state. Maybe you guessed the name of your an aunt or uncle but I had named another of your aunts or uncles. How were you close? And if you weren’t, what could you do differently? Did you need more time? Did you need a mind that is more blank?
Here are two more… and use the process that worked for you above, or use a new process that might work better. Remember, the point is to establish a receptive, rather than an actively thinking, mind. How about:
a fruit
an animal
Get relaxed, take your time and when you have them, NOTE your process. Visual? Auditory? Sensory? Or “just knowing?” (That last one is called clairsentience.)
Here were the choices I made this month:
red grapes
camel
I hope you have some fun with this, use it to find out about your own process, and return often!
