What is intuition?
Intuition deepens our understanding by encouraging the flow of information from the greater reality of our non-conscious mind past the limits of our conscious mind.
The intuitive flow of information is inhibited by many obstacles: our assumptions, beliefs, emotionality, need to control, amount of awareness and level of understanding -- just to name a few. To encourage the intuitive flow of information we need: an attitude of sincerity; the ability to remain comfortably in a focused state of unknowing; and a strong desire to connect with what is greater than ourselves.
Intuition might occur in feelings, inklings, hunches, forebodings, dreams, ‘luck’, coincidences, serendipitous events, voices, visions or imaginative musings.
These are also the ways in which we experience ‘false’ knowing. Instead of receiving accurate information, our conscious mind might activate the flow of our hopes, fears, desires, expectations, needs for certainty, needs to be right, and beliefs about what is true rather than truth. Then it’s as if we have dipped our bucket into the well and accidentally pulled up mud and muck instead of fresh water.
It is when we drop through the layers of our minds so deeply and so cleanly that we transcend the factors normally driving our awareness, that we can contact the flow of information connected to a much greater perspective -- beyond our normal limits. For me it has taken enormous dedication and years of persistent effort and practice, to maintain a clear channel for this flow of energy and information. And for me, the benefits have been worth the investment.
