What is mind body fitness?

Mind body fitness engages us in exercises that:
 

     Clear stagnant energies from our bodies;
 
    Deepen and expand our natural flow of energy; and
 
    Build the strength to support us.
 

Each day we acquire unnecessary limitations in our freedom of awareness and movement. We embody some of the weaknesses in our psychology. We tighten up... crumple down... store some tension... blank out a little bit.  We need on a regular basis to remove these self-imposed restrictions so that they don’t block the flow of our energies.

We can expand our ‘inner space’ by challenging ourselves to go to our ‘edge’ -- to reach the physical limit of what we can do in the moment -- and then hang out with that limit, deepening the flow of our energy with each breath, and allowing the potential for that limit to change. When the limit does change, our energy flow increases and we have more freedom.

We might also find that we haven’t been using our bodies in the most structurally efficient way.  We might lead our lives from our shoulders, wondering why they are so tense. We might pooch out our bellies in the ‘pregnancy posture’ even though we’re not. We might push our ribcages forward, in defiance rather than strength. When we begin to move more efficiently we create a new and stronger ‘center’, as we locate, coordinate and develop previously unused muscles.  We don’t have to work that much harder... but we need to work smarter.
