Submissions will also be accepted from immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings and children 18 years of age or older) of those who have served since 11 September 2001, including the immediate family members of a Servicemember who was posthumously awarded one or more of the decorations listed above.
Phase-1 of the Literary Initiative began October 1, 2007 and ended March 31, 2008. It was restricted to Minnesota residents. Phase-2 began April 1, 2008 and will last indefinitely. The Literary Initiative is open to anyone who meets the Eligibility Guidelines, regardless of the state or territory of residence.
Poetry submissions must be 625 words or LESS in length, not including the title (if any). Essays must be 1,350 words or LESS in length, not including the title (if any). Complete details are available by clicking on the links that follow.
Anyone who would like to write a message to Veterans, Servicemembers, Reservists, Army and Air National Guard troops, or their families who have served anywhere in the world since September 11, 2001 is encouraged to do so.
