Gwendolyn Adair Bertoni
She was married to Joe Preston Bertoni on October 15, 1953 in Avondale, Arizona. Joe is the son of Charles Edward Bertoni and Ruth Amos. They had eight children: Donna Irene, Donald Wayne, Sue Ann, Joe Preston Jr., Larry Edward, Brenda Cheryl, Shelly Renea, and Cindy Noreen. Gwen's job was being a full-time mom. She enjoyed her family very much. Joe worked as a lather until their family moved to Boron, California. The plant makes borax soap. Gwen's brother Delbert also worked at the Borax plant for about one year. The children from both families had a fun time while together. They had a cage built in the backyard of Joe and Gwen's house for desert tortoises. The tortoise were all around the area. Joe and Gwen eventually moved back to Phoenix and Joe worked for Delbert in the remodeling business. Joe then landed a great job with Allied-Signal or Honeywell as it is called now. They also lived for several years at 3321 E. Yale Street until they bought a very nice home at 17849 N. 43rd Drive, Glendale, Arizona 85308. Unfortunately Gwen was not able to enjoy the house for very long. She was diagnosed with ovarion cancer and died shortly after on September 11, 1996 in Phoenix, Arizona. She is buried close to Mildred, Delbert, Ronnie, Ina, one grandchild, and one great grandchild.
