Statement of Y2K Compliance
The date keeping algorithms for EPS-IV software versions 7.x (Hospital
Version) and 7.xHC (Home Care Version) are certified to be "Y2K"
compliant so long as the following PC Hardware and Operating System conditions
are met:
-
1) The PC upon which the software is to be run is certified to be Y2K
compliant at the ROM BIOS level (which controls the embedded CMOS calendar
date and time keeping functions).
-
-
2) And, the PC operating system is certified to be Y2K compliant in its
calendar date and time keeping functions (either Windows 95 or Windows 98
with the appropriate Y2K patches applied).
-
Assuming that the PC Hardware and Operating System meets the above criteria,
the Y2K compliance of the EPS-IV software may be verified as follows:
EPS-IV 7.x (Hospital Version):
-
Set the PC's date (at either the CMOS level, the Operating System level,
or using the built-in EPS-IV date maintenance option) to 12/31/1999.
-
Enter an "Inpatient" IV order (for a patient in a hospital bed). Print
a label with a Due Time that would fall on 12/31/1999. The due date printed
on the label should read "12/31" and the expiration date should read
"01/01"
-
Enter a "Home Infusion" IV order (for a patient for which the Bed Number
is entered as "HOME"). Print a label with a Start Date of "12/31/99" and
an Expiration Date of one day. The due date printed on the label should read
"12/31/1999" and the expiration date should read "01/01/2000".
-
Change the PC's date to 02/28/2000.
-
Use the EPS-IV demand label option (Main Menu option #3, Submenu option
#1) to print a label for the "Inpatient" IV order entered above. Use a Due
Time that would fall on 02/28/2000. The due date printed on the label should
read "02/28" and the expiration date should read "02/29" (the year 2000 is
a Leap Year).
-
Again, use the EPS-IV demand label option to print a label for the "Home
Infusion" IV order entered above. Use a Start Date of "02/28/00" and an
Expiration Date of one day. The due date printed on the label should read
"02/28/2000" and the expiration date should read "02/29/2000".
EPS-IV 7.xHC (Home Infusion Version):
-
Set the PC's date (at either the CMOS level, the Operating System level,
or using the built-in EPS-IV date maintenance option) to 12/31/1999.
-
Enter an IV order. Print a label with a Start Date of "12/31/99" and an
Expiration Date of one day. The due date printed on the label should read
"12/31/1999" and the expiration date should read "01/01/2000".
-
Change the PC's date to 02/28/2000.
-
Use the EPS-IV demand label option (Main Menu option #5, Submenu option
#1) to print a another label for the IV order entered above. Use a Start
Date of "02/28/00" and an Expiration Date of one day. The due date printed
on the label should read "02/28/2000" and the expiration date should read
"02/29/2000" (the year 2000 is a Leap Year).
