Michelle De Vine

Greetings and welcome
Michelle De Vine has been dancing she was four years old, performing professionally at festivals, state fairs, restaurants, and at special occasion private affairs (such as birthday parties, retirement parties, anniversaries etc.) She specialize in dances of the sword, veil and zills. After moving to Hunterdon County in New Jersey from the San Francisco Bay Area, she began teaching private classes, then soon moved into a studio for large group classes. Her unique teaching style breaks down movements giving each student not only the technical details but also the body awareness necessary for beautifully fluid movements.
Michelle directs the professional dance group Mahalat, the student troupe (which is quickly becoming fantastic!!) Kinnari and the children's performance troupe The Nixies.
Mahalat has performed at prestigious festivals and events in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and California, recently they have been invited to perform as a guest with Bal Anat (Directed by Suhaila Salimpour) it t show in St. Louis!
Michelle is also accredited with the position of assistant director for Rakkasah East, and the director of Rakkasah Spring Caravan. - Belly Dance Fusion Festival.
What is Belly Dancing?
Belly Dancing (otherwise known as Orientale Dance and Middle Eastern Dance) has traditionally been performed by women for women and by men for men. A timeless art form that goes back thousands of years with modern appeal.
What will you experience?
A low impact exercise that utilizes individual muscles and multiple muscle groups from head to toe! A non-competitive and relaxed atmosphere where you can release the drudgeries of daily life and embrace your feminine spirit.
Who can do it?
Anyone with an adventurous spirt and willingness to learn. There is no previous dance experience required. Dancers and would be dancers of all shapes and sizes are welcome to come and experience this unique dance.
