well as a collection of interesting animals native to Japan.

But these animals are NOT native to Japan. this was part of an exhibit from the US. These are very young prairie dogs that were exceptionally cute. In the adjacent enclosure was a bison.
This was a bear that is a Japanese native. Notice the wrinkles around the head and the "smooshed" look to the face. Quite adorable, but it sort of reminded of those dogs of Asian origin that have the same sort of features.
