Here is Acharya Rajneesh as he looked in the early 1970s at his apartment in the Woodlands Building in Bombay. This photograph was taken in his bedroom, which was also used to greet disciples individually and in small groups. Notice the high backed chair and towel in his lap, his trademarks. In those days he dyed his hair black to cover his grey. On the desk behind him was a special button that automatically locked the door to the bedroom when he desired privacy. Rajneesh once claimed to have read more books than anyone in the world. Note the books behind him, a tiny fraction of his large personal library.
