Materials:
3 yards ribbon, cord or plastic lacing
1 key ring or lanyard hook
50 khaki pony beads
35 yellow pony beads
5 translucent red pony beads
Special Instructions: This pattern is not as
hard as it may seem. Step 1--begin as usual making the first
point of the star. Add a yellow bead, lace 10 khaki beads on one
strand and go back through to form another point and repeat the
step once more with the same strand. Repeat these steps, with the
other strand, making two more star points and finishing with both
strands going through a yellow bead. Step 2--on one strand, lace
on 3 yellow beads and go through the yellow bead between the star
points to attach.
This step is done three times with one strand, twice with the
other strand and having that strand go through the last set of
three beads. Step 3--add one yellow bead and go through a row of
3 yellow beads. Do this step in the same manner, three times with
one strand and twice with the other. Step 4--add 2 yellow beads
and 1 red. Go back through the two yellow beads and through the
yellow bead from step #3. Step 5--with one strand weave through
the five red beads, and do the same for the other strand, weaving
through from the opposite side. This will secure the red beads,
then tie a knot.
