The Golf Program & Frequently Asked Questions
We have a very unique golf program for our area. Our focus isn't on simply swing mechanics. We look at the overall golf swing and find hidden faults in your body that are preventing you from performing a sound swing. By correcting these faults, your body is freed up to swing to your potential, thus enhancing your golf game.
Many time, people are unaware of these faults. When you repetitively swing the golf club with these faults, your body wears down slowly, and eventually you will injure yourself, causing you pain. Not only will your body be in pain, but you will have to stop golfing for an undetermined amount of time, which will severely damage your golf game.
By signing up for our program, not only will you be enhancing your golf game, but you'll be preventing needless injury to your body.
How would this affect my golf game?
If you have areas of your body that aren't functioning properly (i.e. tightness and/or weakness in "golf-important" areas) then it doesn't matter if you have the biggest big bertha out there, you aren't going to be able to perform a "sound" golf swing. Our program corrects those faults, thus allowing you to be able to swing the club properly. This will, in turn, give you more consistency, which will lower your scores.
I'm already seeing a golf pro for lessons so I don't need this program, right?
We do completely different things from a golf pro. Golf pros help correct your mechanics and instill swing fundamentals. We look at your body and correct weakness and tightness and postural problems over the ball that inhibits your golf swing. In fact, we will work with your golf pro to help you in the best way possible.
What are the different parts of the program?
First, the videotaped swing and posture analysis involves taping your swing then streaming onto a computer where we break down your swing into tenths of a second so that we can analyze your posture at every point during the swing along with spotting mechanical problems that may be caused by a body fault.
Second, the golf fitness evaluation is a physical evaluation of the golf-specific areas of the body to determine if there is a weakness or tightness that needs to be addressed.
Next comes the "treatment". The one-on-one balance/posture sessions have you and Dr. Miller performing balance exercises and postural training. The golfer therapy sessions include strengthening, flexibility training, and specific joint and/or muscular work by Dr. Miller.
