Rodeo Kitty 2002 Rodeo Kitty 2002

In June, 2002, we were at the Gatesville Rodeo in Gatesville, Texas when a little boy pawned a hurt, scared kitten off on my friend Julie. Well, of course, Julie already has 2 cats, so I got stuck with the kitten. She was about 6 weeks old and looked like she'd fallen from a vehicle. Anyway, she became our newest family member and we named her Rodeo Kitty. She's a good playmate for Patches. They are both inside kitties, although Rodeo really wants to go outside.

Update!

Now, Rode, as she's known around the house, is our indoor-outdoor cat. She never could get used to staying in 24/7, so we let her out during the days and make sure she's in with us at dusk each day. She's able to live with that arrangement.

Here's Patch:

Patches2002 Patches 2002

We adopted Patches from the Animal Welfare Society of Bandera County on January 8, 2001. She has adjusted quite well to our family. She loves to sit in the bathroom window and chatter at the hummingbirds at the feeder on the back porch. In the last few months, Patch has taken to venturing outside for very limited periods and for the most part, only when we are outside, too.

Blue:

Blue 2000 Melissa & Blue 2000

Blue (bet you can't guess why she got her name) is an 11 year old Australian Shepard.

Here is our youngest Equine member of the corral. Introducing Alamo Daencer (AKA Bruce).
He is a Friesian and Arabian cross. I thought it was time to split him off since this page takes so long to load. Click on his picture, below, to go to his page.

Bruce - 3 years

And here's Bruce's best friend, Buddy:

This is Buddy. He's Justin's pony. He's a buckskin paint and the wooliest thing I've ever seen in my life. He's the first pony I've ever been around and is absolutely precious.

Justin and Scooby 2005 Justin and Scooby 2005

We have two new additions to the family. Here's Scooby, Justin's new full-sized horse. He's thrilled and Scooby's a wonderful find. This is Simplie Devine (AKA Georgie Girl). She's Melissa's new hores. She came home September 23. She's actually related to both Cupid and Zad below. Click on the picture of Georgie Girl to go to a page loaded with pictures of Scooby and Georgie and the kids.

Georgie Girl

Here are some photos of Maddie. She passed over the Bridge on August 21, 2006. She was 14 years old. She was a terrific friend and companion. She loved nothing better than to sit next to you and be with you. We will always miss our Maddie. Her full name was Das Kleines Maedchen. She was my little girl. Farewell Maddie. Maddie is buried out back under the same oak tree as Pumpkin.

Squire & Wrangler 2000 Wrangler & Squire sunbeam 2000
Squire and Wrangler, sadly, have passed to Rainbow Bridge. Squire died July 20, 2005 at the age of 21. Wrangler followed him September 17, 2005. Wrangler was in his late teens. Both will be sorely missed.

Squire & Larry 1999

Squire and Larry were kindred spirits. They trusted each other implicitly, can you tell? Larry will always hold a very special place in his heart for Squire.

Zad Elpharo Karaj 1997

This is my boy Zaddie (Zad Elpharo Karaj) who left us for Rainbow Bridge in June 1999. Zad was a straight Egyptian Arabian gelding who's sire was straight Babson. He was a very special boy and is missed very much.

Cupid c. 1988

This is Cupid, my first Arabian, who left us for Rainbow Bridge in 1993. He was my first Arabian and my best buddy. There will never be another like him. Cupid was descended from the Donoghue breeding program.

Pumpkin 2000

This was our wonderful kitty, Pumpkin. We brought Pumpkin home from the Animal Defense League on Halloween 1999. I didn't notice at the time, but he was a rare male calico. He was a very sweet kitty. Pumpkin lived in the house with us. Pumpkin had a defective heart and his system gave out September 9, 2000. He crossed over Rainbow Bridge and is buried in the back yard under an oak tree. We miss him very much.
