While our train was at the station at Victoria Falls we took a tour of Livingstone on the other side of the falls in Zambia. My favorite place there was the popular outdoor market. We saw many tourist type markets on this trip but this was a market by and for the local people. There was a huge variety of goods for sale here, from building supplies to shoes, all kinds of clothes and furniture and kitchen supplies. Of course, there were groceries and textiles, toys and bicycles. There were services available too such as the bicycle repairman for whom the little boy above was waiting his turn. There were women gossiping and men smoking and playing table games or just sitting. And naturally there were scads of little kids who were too young to be in school that day.
