(T)Did everyone see the latest ep with our Most Gorgeous One risking his precious self to test drive the new missile? It was pretty good. I question the ability of people to casually sneak into a facility that makes secret missiles, but hey, Honey was driving his pretty red car and looking very, very fine so I stopped thinking and just enjoyed. It seems to help. 8-) (K)It was fast passes, made sence and for once..I didn't have the overwhelming URGE to slap BOBBY!!! I tolereated Janine, b/c for once she wasn't whining and bithing herself every 5 seconds...Kelly was decent..and so was the team..Hodges too!! WE saw her for more than 10 sec. this time too! (M)I must agree with K -- strange ...., but back to the point -- the darn thing made sense! Actually, I really enjoyed this episode. We had lots of character development, a fair amount of action, and it wasn't all the type of "shoot lots of bullets and let's hope no one important gets caught in the middle." (K)Um..only problem..was I agree with ease of trespassing going on.. (L)First off... is anyone else entirely sick of hearing that guy in the opening... "It'll take guts... blah, blah, blah."? Cause I definitely am. (K)DIED laughing at Bobby and AJ when he told the guard he looked like Patrick Swayze...AJ's look was HYSTERICAL!!! (L) Bobby: "My gosh. You look like Patrick Swayze!" Shut up!!!!!!!!! I don't know if that was funny or just so pathetic it was funny. (K)Loved it when Anni told AJ to stop talking..shut up would have been better..but still it was funny...UM... (L)Lindstrom: "Shut up." Very good banter!!!!! Give it right back, Lindstrom! (L) Wendell: "Definitely take the starch outta my shorts." Oooooohhhhh.... Poe widdle Wendell needs a woman. Any volunteers? H? (L) Bobby: "Hey, I'm just looking for that woman that makes me feel high all the time." (L) AAAAAAIIIIIIIIIYYEEEE!!!!! When was this ep written or filmed? Cause you know I did write that letter complainin' about how Janine wasn't Bobby's equal. Maybe someone did pay attention. Nawwww... that was early December and this was probably already shot. Oh well... at least someone on the writing staff has a clue. (L)I volunteer to give the writing staff pointers on how to write a REAL woman that would challenge Bobby. Soon I predict Bobby will fall in love with a tough, smart, competent, brunette who goes by the name of like... Sha....er... Sherry Van...er... Sherry Veruca.... or somethin' like that. She kicks butt and takes names! Someone like that... someone who keeps Bobby off balance all the time could keep him feelin' high all the time, right? Right? (L)And let me tell you another thing.... if I were the new chick in Bobby's life and found out that his ex worked at Tail Wind there is no way in HELL I would let him keep going there much less go over her house and talk to her. I'd be like... "Uh... no, babes. Either it's over or it's not. And if it's not then I'm hasta la vista, bay-bee! I told you that I don't dance during another woman's song. C-Ya." (L)Robert J. (K)what's the thing with the women and coffee?!! (L)Hey! And K is right. What up with the coffee and cell phones and late night break ins and computers and e-mail? What is this... The X-Files? Mulder? (L) You know Honey got a chance to pull a couple of Cooper-confused faces. But why would the Sea Dragons look into this? Shouldn't some REMF's (Rear Echelon Mo-Fo's) Engineers do that? And if this is being submitted for military use... wouldn't they HAVE to be allowed access? (K)and the um..ok let's line up and pick up the tarmack thing was..um..interesting..yea..that's it..would have been better if they had had the guys bend over in the OPPOSITE direction..but um..yea.. NOT BAD.. (M)AJ and Anni -- well, I can believe there's something there -- no evidence to the contrary, you know? :-) And, if there is a romance still going on, then what we did get is very mature behavior. Although, the squirting of Annalisa with the water bottle might be considered a little immature - but it was fun to see! While I see K's point that it would have been more fun to have her tell him to "Shut up" while on the phone, they'd already had her tell him that once in the episode. I figured, like writing an essay, you try to not say the same things over and over within the same episode. (K)As for AJ/ANNi....yea something is still there. and they were very Professional, which is how it should be dontchaknow! I mean they can't be all over each other 24/7...Sorry to disappoint you jessa! but I think the brass would frown on them getting it on in the heuy! (K)BUT did AJ look sexy as HELL in that out fit..when he was waiting for Anni and that women?!! OH GOD BLESS THE XUEREB JEANS..and GENES!!!:0) Yummy Yummy.. ok..and for once I liked that Bobby and ANni actually WORKED together on something, but I personally hated her sweater! it was ...IKK!! she usually wears really cool modern clothes..like cut off shirts and stuff..and that looks like something my mom would wear! (T)I didn't like Anni's sweater, but only cause it was gray and Bobby was in gray; and I thought the color had gone out on my tv. (K)ok...and M..wasn't it..um..Wendell..yea it was that squirted Anni?! heheh..that was funny! hehehe..ok.. (K)Ok someone Explain to me HOW it's possible for AJ to toss Bobby a Dr. Pepper..and NOT have it spew when he opens it!? (A)do any of you recall AJ ever referring to Annalisa by her first name? The guys in the group all call each other by their first names quite often. I've heard Wendell and Bobby call her Annalisa, but never AJ, and never in a work situation. For example, when they were standing around the STX in the ep where the pilot ditched his group and disappeared, Bobby said "AJ, Wendell and Lindstrom." This happens a lot. It bugs me. In "Power Play," Col. Kelly said something like, "Why don't you buy a watch, AJ?" Never heard him say Annalisa. Do they consider her name, which I think is very pretty, to be too girly or too personal? J told me she heard AJ say"Annalisa," but she can't recall in which ep. And J, was it to her face? I know, it's a weird thing to get bugged about, but hey, it bugs me. You are falling in love with someone, and you call her by her last name? I don't think so. It seems like a distancing thing to me. (A)Now, onto "Power Play." It was good. No AJ/Anni, but you can't have everything, right? I didn't really get the whole debris-picking-up scene. Why exactly did Annalisa tell AJ to shut up? The audio wasn't real good on my tape, so maybe I missed something. It seemed like he was just repeating what she had said. And, what did Wendell mean by "It sure takes the starch out of my shorts" or something like that? (A)Ooh, I had a thought while watching that I simply must share. Not to start WWIII or anything, but could they be setting up a Bobby/Annalisa/AJ triangle? Why do I say these volatile words? Well, during garbage detail, Bobby said to Annalisa that he was just looking for the woman who could keep him high all the time. Then, Annalisa makes a beeline for Bobby at the Tailwind. He is clearly glad to see her and wants her to go with him. I don't know...I don't want to piss anyone off, but it could be interesting. Or, am I just reading way too much into nothing and need to lay off the prescription drugs??? ;o) (K)AJ gave Bobby a coke? humm..AJ had a Dr.Pepper...heheh..And if Wendell was after Bobby he REALLY needs to work on his aim b/c he nailed Anni! (K)I still don't see an Anni/AJ/Bobby triangle..that's just ain't going to happen..I will fall flat on my face if that happens! I"m talking SEND the paramedics time! It's going to be intersting enough to see how they fit an intamate relationship amounst 2 members of the same team..and how Hodges and kelly and everyone takes it...but to have a love triangle..OH Kelly and Hodges would nip that SOO Fast..it would put to much of a strain on the group..and someone would get killed! And poor Wendell woudl be caught in the middle..no no no...that and BObby and Annalisa hardely EVER spend anytime together..they've NEVER really talked...I could see possibly ..AJ/Wendell and anni..but not Bobby..I think either he will get back together with Janine..or they will bring someone else into his life..and continure the whore boy story! (K)And yes it also could be that I just want ANni and AJ together..they are too cute, fun and sexy together...OH please I beg to the writers..DO NOT F*CK this up!! If you do..my bat will be joining me on my trip to San Diego and I MAY have to hunt a few of you down....ANyone know what you take to brib writers with..besides drugs, caffin and sex?!!! (K)UM..trying to remember A's post..AJ has called Annalisa by her first name twice. Once in the Huey in the second part of the pilot when he tells her "I need you to mow the lawn Annalis...he doesn't call her annalisa..annalis. And in Bogey man..the Korean one...when he's planting the bombs..she's getting worried b/c he's not done and the bad guys are coming dontchaknow..and she's like..AJ? AJ? and he says into his com unit...Almost there annalisa. But that's it. Wendell and Bobby call her by her first name more than AJ does..and Kelly has NEVER called her by her first name! (K)As for her telling him to shut up..Bobby I think of AJ says something like..has anyone noticed that kelly is walking a foot high off the ground, and Annalisa is like..well his got a think with Dr. West...and AJ says in a sarcastic Tone..a THING with Dr. West..and that's when she tells him to shut up b/c she know's all their minds just HIT the gutter at the same time..(was that the loud cathump I heard!) and Wendell was saying that having a THING would take the starch out of his shorts! For example..AJ used to be really..Stiff or tense..until up around..Trials and Tribulations when ANni was in deep crap and pain and he relized he had it for her..and he turned into this sweet loveable..pain in the ass guy! That's what he ment (M)As for the "shut up", you guys made me have to go watch it again. (Terrible, I know.) Near as I can make out, it goes something like this: AJ: What's up with Kelly? He's been walking a foot off the ground lately Anni: Wake up, AJ. mumble mumble "thing" with Dr. West AJ: That "thing" with Dr. West? (laughs) Anni: Shut up, AJ Wendell: Sure would take the starch out of my shorts, a "thing" like that Bobby: Yeah, it's like flying -- quite a high when you're up, but what a crash when you come down. Anni: No wonder you go through women like most guys go through potato chips Bobby: Just looking for the one to keep me high all the time (M)Relistening/watching that scene, I was struck by A's observation about a possible triangle. Who knows? Maybe we'll see in next week's episode. One thing against it -- Bobby *did* go to Janine's for comfort, not to Annalisa. (K)As for them getting together..Bobby/anni/aj..I don't see it happening...bobby RARELY does ANYTHIGN with Annalisa, I think she just showed up and saw him and could tell he was really nervous about the test launch..she was being his friend. If anythign is going to happen in the way of love triangles..I see a LONG lost flame of Anni's or AJ's coming back for a visit..and causing some friction..or something like that...it would really risk the team to have a triangle going there..and I think at that point..and would bail out. The team is very important to her and so are the guys as her friends. I think she would give up the whole idea of having a relationship with either of them, she wouldn't risk losing both of them as friends and also jepordizing their friendships with each other. (K)As for Sharpie women in this episode..I think at first she was worried b/c she had testified about the Milex system..and it would put her butt on the line if it screwed up...but when she relized Bobby was in danger..I loved it when she told AJ to get the security there ASAP...heheh..I like her..I just don't like her tactics sometimes..and that's probably b/c unlike most of you..I'm still in my very IDEALISTIC stage of life..were I have strong beliefs in stuff and I'm just really nieve too! (K)ANd as for them not being in this episode as a realtionship..I think they were...there was something there..it was their professional relationship. They can't be all googoo eyed and lovey dovey 24/7! especally at work..that will get them both killed..either in the line of enemy fire...or friendly fire IE Bobby and Wendell (H)But we really do have to wait I think and make sure there IS a relationship, I mean look what they did to boytoy and betsey...finally the girl seems to have bought a clue (who loaned her that dollar, how many times did I tell you all NOT to lend HER money?) and boytoy is nowhere in her life? Too strange. And we get no explanation either. (M)I was really expecting a yelling match of some type with Janine the way it was described. Very pleasantly surprised with how it was handled. I mean, I kind of hate to say it to this group, but I thought the girl showed some real maturity in this episode. Even when she sees Bobby (and, it's definitely obvious they've broken up -- too bad we didn't see any fallout from that anywhere along the way, but that's a previous discussion), she doesn't break into tears or need his strong arms to comfort her. (M)Even more surprising was *him* going to her for some comfort -- and not of the sexual kind! He seemed a heck of a lot more mature than he has for several episodes. His concerns regarding the safety of the mission -- instead of saying "no" and walking away, he is working within the confines of his job. So many times, they've seemed to show him doing what he wanted, when he wanted, with no thought (by him) as to how it would affect his credability with the rest of the team or his boss! (L) And that talk between Bobby and Janine outside her house? Uh... no. Sorry. No matter how much you want it to happen... that little "We can just be friends" speech... it never works. Why? Cause the next man or woman down the line will lift an eyebrow and go... "Oh! I DO NOT think so. Talk to the hand, baby. Talk - to - the - hand!" (D)I think Janine's alright. No, what am I saying! I mean... I hate that teenage attitude. I hate it when people try to write "independent feisty young woman" and instead come up with "teenage bimbo with an attitude problem". I can see what they intended for Janine, and the writers just missed the mark. Sending her to college might help, actually. give her a chance to act like an adult for once... but then.. the character is supposed to be very young. Bit of a dilemna there. I think Kristanna Loken does a pretty good job though. (M)The scene with Kelly and West sharing dinner was absolutely hilarious. I'm not quite sure *why* they had to sit so close together and share one Happy Meal, but it was quite entertaining. And the "I'll call you. What was the number? Just kidding." lines had me rolling. (M)RVJ looked good, didn't he? hehehehehehe They *all* looked good. Even poor Hodges, who's usually made out to be such a pain. I thought that worked well -- first, she doesn't want to hear anything against it because, hey, the guy that's complaining got a job change. He's probably just upset. Then, we find from Kelly, that he had attitude problems before and couldn't make it in the Corps because of that. But once the gang had some real evidence to show her, she really came around and supported them. (T)I loved that part where Kelly was trying on the sunglasses. Didn't you guys think that was cute? (K)That was funny as hell..AJ's like..No NO Dont' think so! (L) Okay... if the schematics were on the disk then how did Wendell know what application to use in order to open the file? I hate when they don't explain computer stuff like that. It's annoying. It's so ID4. (blech) (L) AJ and Bobby get to be trespassers, Annalisa gets to be the comforting presence... and Wendell of course is the big computer nerd. Can we be more stereotypical? (sigh) (T)I think they call her Lindstrom cause it's easier to say than Annalisa; but I talk really hick-like and it takes me about a day to say that whole name. Can't fall in love with someone when you only use their last name? Hmmm. What about Mulder? Yes, I'm a hopeless romantic, I know. :) (K)What the heck is so hard about her name..ANNA...LISA..acutally he says it really sexy the few times he's used it..AHHH...I think it's b/c he's just comfortable using Lindstrom..we might see more Annalisa from him.. (D)Is there any differentiation between "on duty" and "off duty". I noticed in one ep that.. oh.. sorry to be so vague... the guys used each other's last names in a combat situation, but they normally call each other "AJ", "Wendell" and "Bobby". But on duty it was "Conaway" and "MacCray". Hmmm? (S)Believe it or not I wondered about that one, is it a sexist thing? Why don't they call her by her God given name? Well, I will continue to analuze that one a bit more!! (K)There is no dfferentiation...Sometimes the guys will call each other by their first names during combat...like in the korean one...both wendell and anni were calling out AJ..and Aj said Wendell on your mark or something..they go back and forth..but AJ has only used her first name twice..both in combat situations..the rest it's been lindstrom...Bobby and Wendell it just goes back and forth..and Like I said..Kelly has never used her first name. (K)1.Wendell, up to this point he's her closest condident. They seem to be able to relate and open up to each other, without worrying what the other is going to think, she also trust's him enough to allow him to give her a swift kick in the butt when she's giving the female in the military whine too much! He's called her both Lindstrom and Annalisa on more than one occasssion..both in and out of battle. They do stuff together..hang out..are very comfortable with each other..THIS is a good, solid relationship! (K)2. Bobby..um..He's not very comfortable around her. WE Know that much. We've only seen them together twice working together that be in Company Town..and this past episode when she caught him at tail winds. Part of me feels like he's afraid to make any connection with her b/c of her being the only female in the group, and AJ's dislikement of women in combat. For Instance..when AJ was busting her chops about failing her cross training..instead of sticking up for her..Bobby just kinda let AJ run her into the ground..when HE on MORE than once occasssion had jeporidized thier whole missions b/c of what HE wanted! and in another case he told Lindstrom that though she was part of the team, she wasn't one of the boys! He has called her Annalisa but not in Combat situations. I think he's riding the fense on this one...he doesn't want to step on anyone's toes..but b/c she's the minority of the group..he's more likley to take the boys side than hers..(A@@) (K)3.AJ...OH BOY. Ok, he starts off paling around with her and then all of a sudden in Episode #3 or 4 he wants nothing to do with her. NO women in COmbat thing blah blah blah...yadda yadda yadda...up to like..um..Birda of Prey he at any chance made it well known he wasn't comfortable with her their..Friends..LOL..they did stuff as a team..if the team wasn't there..then they weren't together! She didnt' trust him any farther than she could throw him..Then after birds of Prey..he all of a sudden likes her, still busts her chops anytime he can..but he likes her..ALOT! he's only called her Annalisa twice..once in the chopper in the pilot..and second when he was digging bombs during The Korean one..my figuring..He's PETRIFYED OF HER!! He KNOW"S he likes her but he doesn't want to say anything if she doesn't. He was such a jerk to her for so long, she may not trust him enough for this to go any further...so both, afraid of being hurt..are going into this very cousiously. The other reason he MAY not call her by her first name...A sexual issue. having brothers like I do..I know that they are always calling each other by their last names as terms of affection..maybe that's what it is..an uncouscious way of trying to make her one of the guys? (K)4.Kelly...You know what..Kelly is like NEVER around ANnalisa. IF they WHOLE TEAM isn't there..he's always with the guys..but he's called the guys by their first name in combat situations..hell when she was about to lose her career he never called her by her first name either!! MY thinking..HE"S more PETRIFIED of her than AJ is! She's a women, and having a daughter..I think maybe alittle of him is like this is my daughter too and I need to protect her..and as long as I don't get to close to her..I wont worry as much about her. You know what I mean! He sure as heck doesn't want to lose any of the team...but if he's not too attached then it wont hurt as bad. (M)I vaguely remember AJ saying something like "Let's mow the lawn, Annalisa" when he was throwing the grenades out the door onto the runway during the premiere, part 2. That's the only time I've ever heard her name mentioned, except for probably in Part 1 where she's introduced to Kelly in the hospital. (A)I think they should have called this episode "Beverages and Cell Phones." Coke, Dr. Pepper and lots of coffee. Lawdy, no wonder everyone was so tense. (L)And why go at night to the office? She could have just taken a cardboard box to pick up her hubby's stuff and it wouldn't have looked half as suspicious. And couldn't they have just e-mailed the last ten e-mails to like Wendell or sumpin'... or even a fake e-mail addy or temp one like on Yahoo or sumpin' or am I just over analyzing this? (L) And why do we have to see Kelly and West eating? And Kelly talking with his mouth full? Is this were AJ learned it? Awwwwww.... Is Kelly AJ's hero? (L) Why must the secret jarhead cave be dark? It's on the base right? Is it so wrong for them to be in their command center at night? What up wit' dat? (L) Didn't Kelly have a truck? And uh... that soul searching comment. Think it might have something to do with Lindstrom in "Trials and Tribulations"? (L) Awwwww..... and Kelly buys AJ a watch? How sweet! I wonder if Bobby and Wendell will be jealous if they find out. (L) And you know that Norton Anthology of English Lit that Janine is reading at the end? Uh... I still have mine. I loved mine so much that I kept them. I have a few Norton Anthologies (World Lit, English Lit., American Lit, The Romantics) as a matter of fact. They are my pride and joy and I unpacked those as soon as possible. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to think that Janine and I are so different. :D ------------------------------ IRC conversation ------------------------------- (M) And, I'd like to know -- for this last episode -- why couldn't that guy drive into his *own* driveway? At first I thought, oh he's got kids that are taking up the driveway. But they weren't around (K) WAIT..wasn't his wifes car in the drive way? (K) but you know he woudln't have been able to become ROAD KILL if he wasn't in teh street (M) yeah, there was at least one car in the driveway (K) and was anni praying? (M) when would Anni be praying? (K) when Hodges is telling Bobby to go to the gulf and eject..it looks like she's praying. (K) and then SHARPIE women looks like she's about to cry.. (M) Yes, Hodges didn't look happy. I'd have to watch again for the praying bit. (K) AHHH..well she just takes a deep breathe and clasps her hands together and closes her eyes like she's praying (M) T -- K wants to see AJ go to Anni's room to "talk" some night -- then we started talking about what if *all* four of them ended up talking the night through (M) What would they talk about? (K) hum..wonder if AJ was wondering if ANNI was going to be the women to keep him off the ground? (M) Yes, I wondered what the other guys' thoughts were to Bobby's comments (T) Well, I think AJ, Anni, and Wendell would do most of the talking, and Bobby would kind of keep to himself and just listen. (T) He's not a team player by any stretch. (T) No, just the leader. Which is really strange. (T) I can't see the Bobby/Anni thing (K) LOL..anni kinda backed off and AJ just had this look (M) I can't really see it from *her* angle -- I can see him being interested (K) nope nope nope (T) I think the writers are just trying to show that they're mixing a little (M) But it did seem to me like she expected to find him there (T) LIke they're starting to pal around a bit (K) well pal around is fine..but I'd fall over dead if they dated.. (T) and they're pulling Bobby into the group (T) Pulling him in, even if he doesn't really want to be pulled in (K) he needs to be brought into the group..he and ANnalisa almost never do anything together.. (K) ANd I'm glad they showed ANni and AJ in a professional manner. (T) Well, see, that's what the writers are doing. Mixing them up. (M) Stirring, not shaking (T) LOL :) (K) LOL but shaking could be fun:) (M) Not all four at the same time, though! (K) yea..I know..in the past it's just been wendell anni or aj and anni.. (T) From the pilot and subsequent eps it seems they are trying to show that Bobby has tremendous issues with his dad leaving. (T) It just scarred him for life. (K) well I"m sure he does..and it did.. (T) Then, the first commander dies... (T) Someone that Bobby had let himself care about (K) and I think when he talked to aj about it..he's trying..and the team isn't going to lose him (T) so now, he's learned. Just don't care and you won't gethurt. (K) but you do get hurt. (M) You get hurt because you literally "can't" not care. (T) But Bobby's a man. :) One brain cell. (M) And we know what he usually USES that brain cell to think about!
