Saturday, July 28 Doug Hoekstra A one-man industry who does the work of a full-time promotion department, Hoekstra is a role model for indie artists who want to get theri music not just heard but bought and played on the radio. His example is especially worth following because Hoekstra the artist makes vivid, concretely detailed folk-rock with melodies and arrangements that don't sound like after-thoughts, and with each new record he reaches farther.
