Just use a 3mm screw. Screw it into the restrictor. Put a piece of soft aluminum sheet besides it and yank it out using a crowbar on the screw head. -------- Re: "Maserati mechanic says that the valve clearances on the Biturbo tend to tighten up faster than they otherwise would if the car didn't have so much underhood heat." This seems to have escaped from the rear end of a bull. It's the first time I heard someone say they do tend to tighten up. If they do, first thing to check is fuel quality. Then get a proper ignition and fuel system check. --------- Looking at your heads, I see you haven't recessed the mounting screw holes for the cambox screws. Do this! Use a drill ca. 1-1.5mm larger than the thread major diameter in the hole. Drill it ca. 1-2mm below the sealing surface. This prevents the edges of the hole being pulled up for the cambox to ride on. When it does, the oil very slowly leaks because the gasket crush is not adequate. If you torque up the bolts harder, the hole pulls up more and the leak gets worse instead of better. The factory did not do this, and consequently most Biturbos sweat along this gasket. -- Einar Sjaavik, einar_sjavik@login.eunet.no, http://www.login.eunet.no/~einar/ 1986 Alfa GTV 2.0, 1986 Maserati Spyder 2.5, 1974 Mini 1000, 1952 Ferguson TEA
