Lyla at Casey's Grave
(1993)

Lyla: It's fall again, Casey. You always liked the fall. I remember you telling me you never understood why people saw it as an ending. To you it was a beginning -- all the colors, changes. That's why I came today.

See, I'm making some changes tomorrow, big ones, and I kind of wanted to tell you. Remember when I went to New York? And you came after me. I made a decision then -- to put my singing career on hold, marry you, have a baby. And I've never once regretted it, not for a second.

Well, I've got another shot at it now, a tour Casey, and I'm going for it. 'Cause -- it feels right. And you always told me, "follow your heart." Look, I won't kid you, I'm scared to death, starting over at my age. Yeah, I know -- "cut it out Ly." But it's not just that. It's leaving the people I love -- Margo, Tom, the boys. That's the hardest.

But your mom and dad are coming with Katie and me, so in a way -- but you know all this, don't you? You were the only one, and that wherever I go, whatever I do, you'll be there.
