King Lear
by William Shakespeare
This extraordinary production was roundly panned by the London critics, who were rightly completely ignored by audiences. Completely sold out for months, the beauty of the production utterly overcame any limitations set upon it by some performances. Michael was a wild man as 'Poor Tom'. Hiroyuki Sanada was a revelation as 'The Fool'. In rep at the RSC Stratford through 26 February 2000.
