        in costume

Meet Hildegard of Bingen: medieval mystic, scholar, visionary, composer, physician, environmentalist, and foundress.

Meet Mutter Maria Eicherhead of the Roses of Saron at Pennsylvania's unique 18th-century Ephrata Cloister, author, composer
Meet Dr. Edith Stein (Sr. Teresa Benedicta a Cruce) Carmelite nun, convert from Judaism, who died in the gas chambers of Auschwitz:  scholar, writer, mystic, saint.

   PENNSYLVANIA HISTORY

The Music of the Wissahickon Glen 1694-1705   My special research into the earliest original music writing in this country - the Kelpius community.
The Mystical Music of the Ephrata Cloister 1730-1760   Again, my special research of the last twenty-five years.  New findings, fascinating material on the life and music of this unique American Pietist community.

Edith Stein has been a popular choice for my first-person presentations.  When I "did" her for the Carmelites at the monastery the nuns  gave me detailed information on how to wear the "toque" and veil in an authentic manner!

Maria Eicher has been very popular, and has been done in the 18th-century Eicher house in Ephrata, for the PA- German Heritage Days in Lebanon, and other sites, including a music presentation for the PA-German Society, with the help of the Ephrata Cloister Chorus.

These old favorites of Pennsylvania history  have been given from Smith College in New England all the way to San Jose California!

Edith Stein is proving to be the most-requested of my "costume" presentations, after Mutter Maria !
