Welcome To The Richey Family Home Page
(Formerly Ray Richey's Home Page)
Page Two
My name is Ray Richey, and I live in Prince George, Virginia. I
was born in Mesa, Arizona 5 Oct 1944 but I spent lots of growing
up years in Alaska (1952 to 1961 Homer, Kodiak, Anchorage, and
Willow). In 1952 when I was 7 years old we drove up the ALCAN
(Alaska Canadian) highway. We left on 1 Sep 1952 and arrived in
Homer, Alaska the end of Sep 1952. We drove up in a Model A Ford, and a
1939 Pontiac.
It
was a great adventure. Here is my Sister Scharlotte's journal.
More about it here. (Click here

Homer, Alaska)
We lived in Homer for a few months before we moved to
Kodiak
on Kodiak Island the home of the famed Kodiak Bear. (Click
here for a link to: Kodiak
Island, Alaska - Official Visitors Guide ) We lived there for
four years. We had many great adventures. During World War II there had been
many buildings and coastal artillery emplacements built near
where we lived. We had a great time exploring and discovering
these old buildings and tunnels.
My cousin and some others took a Family History Trip to Ireland,
here is the report. Richey Family History in Ireland 2007. New 27

Here are some pictures of Kodiak Airways
where my Dad worked.
I went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in New England (March 1964-66).
I married Diane Marie Sheffer from Sparta, Wisconsin on 14 July 1967. We have 4 Daughters, 4 Son-in-laws, and 18 Grandchildren (but who's counting) see them all here.
I spent 20 years in the US Army
and retired in 1988.
When I got out of the Army I started working for Synoptics
Systems Corp, then Information Technology Solutions (ITS)
in Petersburg, Virginia, then Computer
Science Corporation (CSC), then Logistics Solutions Group (LSG).
Presently I am retired. (I like to say RETARDED.)
My Hobbies and Interests are:
