Welcome to the Edge! Hope you got a load 'a chips jacked in, because you're gonna be in for the time of your frackin' life! So hold on tight and don't let go. It's Party Time...

You got here, so you can't be some fool weeflerunner. At least you got that. With a littleluck, you'll be able to actually make a difference. But probably not. Welcome to the street, chombatta. Hope you're ready.

This is the official and original web page of the LARP based on R. Talsorian's RPG Cyberpunk 2020. It draws heavily from White Wolf's Mind's Eye Theatre for game mechanics, but several things have been changed to make it more loyal to CP2020, and for playability's sake. The idea was that if you had played either CP2020 or Mind's Eye Theatre that you would be comfortable with this system.

The original game started in September of 1997, and ran from 5:00 pm time until 1:00 am EST every other Saturday. The Game Masters consisted of myself and my at-the-time normal ex-girlfriend Julie, who unfortunately lived far away and could only come to about half the runs. On average we had between 15 and 25 players per night, with a high around 30 or so. As this was the first full test-run of the game, I kept plots relatively simple and encouraged the players to make their own plot to see how well it could be done in a cyberpunk environment. As it turned out, it seemed relatively easy.

For everyone's sake, though, I included an ongoing plot thread consisting of an experimental microchip (that was rumored to do everything from killing whoever put it in to washing the dishes) and several annoyed MegaCorps. Tensions over the chip mounted until finally the city erupted in full-scale war during the final run of the semester, tallying a Body Lotto count as follows: 1 Suicide, 2 Limb Losses, 4 Revived Dead, 10 Total Deaths, and 16 people hospitalized. All in all a decent night. If you're interested in more details of the plot, check out the Happenin's Page.

Time have changed, however, and this past semester my first co-GM became completely unreliable, so I had to recruit a new one. Evan, a friend of mine, now assists me with the game. His assistance is much appreciated and useful.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm sticking around here, apparently indefinately. This valley sucks you in, man.

This page is still under construction, and as soon as I have the rest of the information, rules, and miscellaneous stuff ready I'll post it. These will be the links, just so you know and are prepared for them:

    • Rules Version 1.2 is now available!!! Download it here for the 1998-1999 in-play version. There are already known changes that will be occuring, but only for specific classes and little typo's here and there.
    • Schedule for the Fall of 1998 is also available now. It took a while to come up with, but it's done. I'm not entirely sure if the Halloween Party will happen or not, those things tend to be rather difficult to determine until about a week before usually.
    • Happenins' Page is coming back. Someday I will get this thing working, but right now it will consist of ongoing summaries of what happened at the runs, along with any interesting in-game articles the media comes up with. Check here often.
    • Characters (I'm still waiting for people to submit descriptions)
    • Pictures Yes!!! It's finally up! Click here to check out the new images!

The new rules are in play, although I have been given a number of ideas that will make life more interesting and will already be addendums to the rules v1.2. So expect a rules version 1.21 out soon.

Beyond this, I'm not sure what will go up. There will be a Photos Page, we actually have some photos and I just need to get them and scan them in. Also, the Happenin's Page will include mostly articles written in character by the reporters in game, so make sure you check in here at least every run. I may change the name of it as well.
