Genesis

-Per Alan Hewitt... "It looks like you may not have too long to wait for the second Genesis box set after all.  Work is currently in progress on this and current indications are that it should be ready before Christmas THIS YEAR.  As for track details etc, you will have to wait a little longer but we're used to that, aren't we?" **

-Recent interviews with Tony Banks about the hits collection reveal that Genesis has no immediate plans to head back in the studio, as Mike is apparently busy preparing to to promote M6 in the US. Genesis has not disbanded as rumors may suggest, they are simply putting things on hold for the time being.  Gary Best <gary@congo.demon.co.uk>;Linda Darling <LMDarling@aol.com>     MORE DETAILS

-The following, in reference to the G99 Fan Convention, reveals a Genesis DVD is in the works:
Glen Colson, the chap who helped with Genesis archival stuff for the documentaries about the band, will be there, and he'll have his camcorder with him. He'll be filming the event and talking to the audience for possible inclusion in a forthcoming, official Genesis DVD project. Manir Donaghue <Manir@kd.karoo.co.uk>
--
-The entire Genesis catalog (minus FGTR) has been released in Japan (thereby available as imports) in miniature album replicas, depicting the exact original vinyl packaging.
--
-There will be no reunion (ie Banks/Collins/Gabriel/Hackett/Rutherford) for any album, tour, etc.
--
-There are no current details regarding the release or anticipated tracklisting of the second Box Set, other than tracks are currently being selected.

The following enticing tidbits have been offered via Alan Hewitt, of The Waiting Room fame:
The second box will hopefully contain the mix of live and studio material which seems to be what most fans actually want.  Of course, it will be alot more difficult this time because there is so much MORE stuff available!  Some of the tracks mentioned by both Tony Banks and Steve Hackett which they would like to see included include the following...

Inside & Out (live)
Entangled (live)
Home by the sea (twenty minute version)
Who-dunnit (thirty minute version)

I think it also reasonable to assume that most of the B-sides from 1976 onwards will be featured unless of course, they have appeared elsewhere on cd.  By the way; the last track mentioned above is NOT a joke, Tony actually mentioned this one to me when we interviewed him before the first box set appeared - daunting prospect, eh?

Tony Banks

-Tony is writing music during the interim, but there are no plans for any solo release. Martin Dean <rck31@dial.pipex.com>

Phil Collins

-Phil's first single ("You'll Be In My Heart") from the Disney "Tarzan" soundtrack hit the airwaves 6 Apr in the US.

Peter Gabriel

-"Up" will be released sometime before the end of time...  "early 2001" being the latest date to be knocked around.

Steve Hackett

- ** Steve's next album (with his brother John on flute) is to be a classical one... "Sketches of Satie" the title.  UK release date is set for 8 May. <John Wood, Camino Records>

Anthony Phillips

-PP&P X, titled Soiré, (a piano album) was released 1 Nov in the UK. One of the songs comes from Ant's Genesis days! The Pavilion

Mike Rutherford

-"M6" (the latest album) is under discussion for a US release in early 2000.  Linda Darling <LMDarling@aol.com>

Ray Wilson

-There is an official website for Ray and his band Cut, which can be found at http://www.raywilson.co.uk

--
-Cut is trying to find UK, and possibly US, distribution for Millionairhead. The major labels seem to have a problem with the Genesis affiliation, so they're checking the smaller ones as well.
