- I was in the process of looking for information on the Yoders
from my father's side of the family but was surprised to see
the Beaver name is also connected. My maternal grandmother's
grandmother was supposedly a French woman named Anna Beaver who
lived in Geneva, Switzerland and married a Swedish? man--
Lewis Benson-. They came to reside in Ohio. Their daughter,
Alice Mae Benson married Franklin Benjamin Bowman (my great
grandparents) in 1920 and lived in West Unity, Ohio. I'd
love any information on Anna Beaver's ancestors.
Thanks for a great website!

- John, I just came across your Bieber site. Very nicely done.
My wife, O'Lynda (Bieber) Head, and I have been trying to find
information on her family. O'Lynda's grandfather would be
Jacob Bieber married to Ottilia Kruger. They entered the U.S.
in 1896 from Gluksthat, Klochendahl Russia. We think Jacob's
father was John Bieber married to Freida Lippert.
Jacob & Ottilia had 7 children, John, Ida, David, Olinda,
Arthur, William & Clarence.
Any information would be appreciated.

- Your site is well done. I was particularly interested in Steffisburg, as that's one of the towns I've targeted as possible origins for my Maurer families. I think my immigrant ancestor was Christian Maurer, to USA 1765 on Ship Polly, and I think my Maurers were from Canton Zurich or Bern, and may have come to Pennsylvania via Alsace or the Palatinate. Allied families: Erni, Bär, Breiner, perhaps Kern, Kllingenschmidt. I also suspect Seftigen, Canton Bern as a town of origin. My Maurers were Reformed, with a small chance they were Amish and Mennonite, with ties to the Amish and Mennonites of Markirch (St. Marie aux Mines), Elsass. I live in Heidelberg, Germany, as a U.S. govt. employee, and have been researching Maurers for 17 years. If you have any family ties to Swiss or Alsatian Maurers, please let me know.
Again, good work.

- I signed in earlier (yesterday now) before I had really jumped into the Bieber info. Before I found was told about your site, I found a list of buriels on the web for St. Johns Cemtery, Kutztown. There are at least 30 Biebers listed but the only George was born 29 Sep 1779. I'm guessing it is not a complete list. It also shows the death of Dewald Bieber as 20 Jan 1808 as opposed to 26 Jan. and indicates a Revolutionary War marker.
I also noticed a Margareth Kuz, nee Beiber w/o George b. 1730 d. 1796. Perhaps this is the Anna Margaretha you haven't been able to locate. The birth is off two years, but perhaps the stone was difficult to read.

- My husband and daughter are part of this group. My father -in-law, Clifford Hornung, is on page 810 in the Bieber book. Five of his brothers and sisters are missing from the list, and of course, many others have been added to the line since the book was written and some of the dates for that family are incorrect if you are interested.

- John, thanks for your input on Elizabeth Caulin. I have tried to find more info on Caul and Kaul, but so far without luck. If any other researchers out there are working on the Elizabeth Caulin/Elizabeth Breinig lines, I'd appreciate hearing if they have had any luck in finding their parents. Dottie

My brother, Wm. P. Bieber, M.D., sent me this site. What a lot of work you've put into it. Really fascinating.
Bill is the geneology nut of the two of us, however, your studies are intriguing me. To think we spent two weeks in Freiburg in the mid 80's, makes me sad I wass'nt aware of the importance of that area.
We are living in Annapolis, not far from our old roots in Allentown, but I've not visited since we moved here from St.Louis in 1989. Pls. add me to your mailing list & I promise to try to read everything.
Sincerely, ....... Dorothy Evelyn (Bieber) Farley, ( Mrs. Donald G.)

- I'm interested in tracing the parentage of
Anna Barbara Beaver who married Michael Mock in
Rowan Co., NC, circa 1805. Marriage bond was signed
by either "Davott" or "Davolt" Beaver, but her father
may have been Henry Beaver of Butler Co., OH, where the
couple came abt 1815. Christopher Beaver, who moved from
Butler Co, OH, to Marion Co, IN, circa 1825 may have been
a brother.
