Llama RescueNet is a nonprofit corporation
organized and operated under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal
Revenue Code of 1986 (Tax ID # 94-3322700).
The mission
of Llama RescueNet
is to respond to situations in which the well-being of one or
more llamas is compromised, offering information and support
to llama owners and caretakers or rehabilitation and suitable
placement for the llama(s), whichever is appropriate.
Llama RescueNet is a nationwide resource network.
Llama RescueNet maintains
current contact information for other legitimate
lama rescue efforts, and networks for the benefit of lamas in
need within the lama rescue community.
Llama RescueNet also directly
supports hands-on, legal representatives called coordinators
in western states (currently Washington, Oregon, and California).
Coordinators are independent persons conducting llama assistance,
relocation and rescue within Llama RescueNet's basic guidelines
for llama care. Coordinators conduct all llama intakes and placements,
and they are assisted in educational and llama care activities
by LRN volunteers in their area, including foster care providers
and llama trainers. LRN's structure provides its coordinators
with funding, networking, a cohesive and consistent system for
legal protocol and basic llama care, plus information and resources
that they need to work with humane organizations and animal control
authorities.
