Last Will and Testament of Alexander Quee

"IN YE NAME OF GOD AMEN: the 8th day of November 1753 I, Alexander Quee of Horsham in ye county of Phila. Provence of Pennsylvania yoeman, being enfeebled of ye decay of nature; & finding in myself ye simtoms of mortality; But being at present of sound mind and memory thanks be to God therefor & knowing it is appointed unto all men to Die. Do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament, that is to say Principaly & first of all: I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it. And for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at ye discretion of my extra nothing Doubting but at ye general Resurrection I shall receive ye same again by ye mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give, Devise and Dispose of in follwing manner and forms.-------------------------------

IMPRIMIS: IT IS MY WILL & Order that in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied: Item I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah in Consideration of her Dower: ye Rents, Dues & profits of my Real Estate During her natural life of Widowhood, But if She ye said Sarah my loving Wife change her State & name by contracting matrimony: then & in such case, she shall turn off with her third of my moveable Estate: only her bed & furniture thereunto belonging shall be allowed her above her third of ye Personal Estate for ye consideration aforesead. Then I give unto my eldest son Alexr. one shilling Ster. Or in value in currency of ye provence aforsd. & (no more). Item I give & bequeath to my Son Johathan sixcty acres of land to be taken off ye northeast End of my Plantation joyning ye Land of Joseph Kindca & Arc. Maclean, to him his heirs & assigns forever: only paying a proportionable part of ye Legacies hereafter bequeathed: ITEM I give & bequeath to my son Seth ye residue of my Land with ye improvements thereon: being by computation ninety acres: to him his heirs & assigns forever: only paying a proporti--- part of ye Legacies hereafter bequeathed: ye sd, Jonathan & Seth is not to Enter of possess their Respective property until ye Death or marriage of their mother, my loving wife Sarah aforsd. Then I give & bequeath to my daughter Siphia Beventon her heirs or assigns ye sum of five pounds; ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Ridgeway ye sum of five pounds; then I give & bequeath to my Daughter Mary Cunnard ye sum of five pounds; ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Katrin Jenkins ye sum of twelve pounds; ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Norton ye sum of five pounds: ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Rachal ye sum of ten pounds; ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Esther ye sum of ten pounds; ITEM I give & bequeath to my Daughter Abigal ye sum of ten pounds; all ye said legacies is to be paid respectively in currant money of Penna. In one year after my sd. Sons (viz) Jonathan & Seth comes to possess their respective Property: & if any of my three youngest daughters, Rachel, Ester or Abigail be called away to death before they arrive to eighteen years of age ye Daughters part be equally divided between ye two surviving Sisters, and lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Arc Maclean of Horsham & my son Seth Quee, Exectrs of this my last Will & testament. In testimony Thereof I have hereunto sett my hand & seal ye day and year above written--
