Martin Koenig

Marty Koenig is a nationally-known teacher of Balkan dance, who has taught in university and community programs throughout North America.
His pioneering folk dance fieldwork has included research, audio recording, photographing and filming in the Balkans, East Europe and the United States between 1966 and 1994
He was the Founder and Director of the Ethnic Folk Arts Center (a.k.a. Balkan Arts Center and The Center for Traditional Music and Dance) in New York City (1966-1994). He now lives with his wife and three children on Vashon Island, Washington.

Kabile Bitov Ensemble -- from Bulgaria

The Kabile Bitov Ensemble, now on tour from Bulgaria, consists of four instrumental musicians and a singer. They will be performing at our regularly scheduled dance from 8 to 11 PM at the Suzanne Patterson Center in Princeton.

From 7 to 8, we will have a covered dish dinner. Attendees arriving at 7 should bring a favorite dinner dish, desert or non-alcoholic beverage to share with the musicians and other dancers.


Special Macedonian Dance Workshop
Friday, June 15, 2007, 8-11 pm, $10.

Paul Mulders, who lives in the Netherlands and
is currently on a North American tour, was a
student of the famous Macedonian dance
teacher Pece Atanasovski. The workshop
will include dances originally taught by Pece.

Daniela Ivanova
