RE: COACHING STAFF
Greetings Al:
First off, congratulations on your recent court victory against the City and County. What can I say? Hiding documents is just plain wrong. What were we thinking? We were "out-lawyered." When you win the case outright, just use some lube on us before you have your way, heh heh. Please?
But I'm not writing to you about that. I understand that you have some turnover in your coaching staff. I know how that goes -- I've had a lot of "churn" in my own office.
I'd like to make you an offer. We have a fine man here at City Hall who I think would make a grand addition to your coaching team. George Musgrove is an intelligent man, a decent fellow who actually follows football. We tried to set him up in charge of the schools, but unfortunately that didn't work out. I sort of promised him that I'd find him a high-profile position, and then your name came up.
Here's the deal -- we send you George Musgrove, and in return you:
Whaddya say? Win-win for everybody, right?
And next season, when the pitcher for the Raiders throws the puck towards the 18th hole of the Patriots, all the bells in Oakland and the greater East Bay will ring. I will lead the cheers, as I was a cheerleader at St. Ignatius Prep. Go, Mastodons!!
With respect,
Jerry Brown
