Point Infinity
I've been to the place where time
runs so s l o w
and all
is
molasses
but my thoughts
outran my thinking
there where the sea touches sky.

I've drowned in my own bed
swimming slowly
straining
yet
sinking
but my heart
over-buoyed my joy
there where the sea touches sky.

I've been a thin line
stretched clear to the horizon.
My head met the morning
while my toes touched the night.
Made it close to forever, once --
dang near made me cry;
and I've never been sure
that I ever came back
from there where the sea touches sky.
