- Goodness
Sake
- Seasonal Joy
in children's bright smiles,
- twinkle-burst
eyes like stars in the night,
- rich blues and
greens; cool candycane stripes,
- cookies and
carolers and other delights.
-
- Magical
etchings, white frost on the pane,
- the wonder and
awe of knowing He came,
- hot country
gravy with biscuits and jam,
- music at
midnight; then snowfall begins.
-
- We long for
those times of simpler things,
- remembering
the sweet balsam scent of the trees,
- and yet, all
around us, it's so plain to see,
- it's faith
that takes us to where we should be.
-
- It's Love,
that's the gift we all ought to give,
- it's caring
and sharing the burdens we live.
- He came to
undo mankind's fallen state,
- to restore us
to grace for His goodness' sake.
