Changes
Don't want to talk no more
just want to hold your hand,
just give me something steady
some peace across the land.

I'm tired of facing changes
too old to run the night
just give me something steady
just let me hold you tight.

The wind that chills my soul
has blown a long, long time,
familiar voice keeps calling
it pulls me down the line.

My sails are worn and tattered
my eyes are old and gray
just give me something steady
and someplace warm to stay.

Can't feel the summer sun
or dreams from times before,
can't feel your arms around me
when we danced along the shore.

Who drew the drapes of youth
and left us groping in the dark?
just give me something steady
let me keep it in my heart.

I'm tired of facing changes
just want to hold your hand,
just stop the clock from ticking
for a moment let me stand

beside you now, forever
Let me be your steady man
I'll give you something steady
I'll hold your lovin' hand.
