Well-known campground with the locals, not well known outside the hiker community. The site was originally a CCC camp, and still retains some of its circa 1930's features. There are no pull-throughs, but there is room for larger travel trailers on many sites. Best suited for tents and pop-ups. No reservations allowed, but we were able to find a site on Friday morning of the Memorial Day weekend, although it did fill up completely by Friday night. The campground was closed for a season in 2002 due to tornado damage, and its popularity has waned somewhat, so weekday availability is always likely. This is a very pretty, very clean, very secluded campground. We plan to make it a regular local getaway.
