Up until the winter of 2001, this was a beautiful tree-covered campground and a regular favorite of ours. In the spring of '02, practically every tree was cut down to contain a pine beetle infestation. It completely changed the landscape and the experience of camping under that ancient pine forest has been lost for many generations. We'll probably never go back. See also Willowgrove.
